It rains - a good moment to reflect

Another rainy weekend. Well, it allowed me to reflect on many things. Wasn't it what my client just recently wanted? Time to reflect?
I was invited to lead a review session for an Executive Committee. I admit, there was some skepticism in the room. "Do we really need this?" But within a few hours, we made significant progress and achieved tangible results. The goal was to improve the team's efficiency by providing constructive feedback to each other and focusing on relevant strategic topics. In other words, be focused, learn, and progress. “It was worth it, and we definitely need more practice.” No more skepticism in that room. Everyone agreed that we should repeat and further develop similar sessions.
Taking a break to reflect allows us to adjust, calibrate, and make sure we are on the right path. It's about leading by example for the entire company. It’s about continuously learning from one another. We create a feedback culture, whether we want it or not. Yet, if we want to have the right culture in place, we better lead by example and take it into our own hands.
Monday, back to my workday routine, I wonder what the team members are going to remember. Will they act on the discussion and the results? Will they put in practice what they learned? Honestly, the experience itself is what one should remember. Whatever you do, practice. After all, the more we practice, the better we become, and the more fun it is.
